Superstition and black magic.

India has always been a  country that is juxtaposed between the ancient and the modern.
Superstition has and will always exist in this country.

It is up to an individual to be superstitious or not, as in some cases it helps people to give them confidence
and the courage to face their own fears and challenges. For eg:- "Steve  Waugh the famous Australian Cricketer and Captain used to keep a red handkerchief in his right pocket whenever his turn to bat had
come". Individuals who are educated and very successful in their careers still follow superstitions in their
everyday life.It is okay, as long as it benefits the concerned person without harming anyone else.

But the recent killing of  rationalist Narendra Dabholkar  against superstition and black magic is a gross violation of the fundamental rights of an Indian citizen! In a democratic country everyone knows that one has the right to express one's opinion if it is within the framework of the constitution.

Who gave  the assailants the right to kill him when he was alone and unharmed??The worst part is that such people go Scott free and the deceased's relatives are paid a meager compensation or the case is just dragged along for years without  a verdict.
Firstly awareness about such practices like black magic must be taken very seriously and the guilty must be seriously punished as it(black magic) is done to cause hurt or harm to a person, and the crusaders against such activities must be well supported to end this age old menace in our country.
